A bus student fare card enables 16 to 18 year old Surrey students attending full-time education to travel on Surrey buses at the same fare as under 16s.
To qualify you must live in one of the 11 boroughs/districts that comprise the administrative county of Surrey, attend a full-time education course and be aged between 16 and 18 (under 19 on 1 September 2011). Your journey must start and/or finish in the administrative county of Surrey. The card is only valid for home to school/college journeys.
You will need to complete an application form and send it in by the following dates to ensure collection from your school or college within the timescales stated. Received by 15 August 2011 we will aim to have them ready for collection for the start of autumn term (5 September 2011). For applications received at other times we aim to have them ready for collection from your school/college in 15 working days. Student fare cards are valid from 1 September 2011.
All fare cards will be sent out via schools and colleges for the student to collect.
All student fare cards are available for use from 1 September 2011 to 31 August 2012.
If you lose your student fare card, find out about replacement of student fare cards.
If you wish to change your mode of transport, see replacement of student fare cards.
You may only apply for both bus and train student fare cards if both modes of transport are needed to complete your journey. They may not be used as alternatives to each other.
Have a look at the new Surrey Student Transport Partnership (SSTP) website for up to date travel information for your journey to school or college and advice on transport assistance.
