Gatton Residential Music Course is open to young people from the age of 11 - 18 years who have achieved a minimum of Grade IV on their instrument (but you don't need to have taken an exam).
Simply decide which orchestra you would like to join - symphony orchestra, wind orchestra or jazz orchestra. All three orchestras have a team of professional tutors supporting each section and are always on hand to help and give advice.
Rehearsals, both sectional and full, take place several times a day, but don't worry you will have plenty of free time to play tennis, five-a-side football, go swimming or just relax and get to know new friends. The dormitory style accommodation is fully equipped, has kitchen facilities and a common room with TV and pool table. All meals are included... food is fantastic and you won't go hungry.
The course ends with a celebration concert at the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill on Saturday 7 April 2012, where each orchestra performs. Family and friends are most welcome.
Applications are invited from players of all orchestra instruments, including percussion and, for the jazz orchestra, guitar, bass guitar and kit drums.
The fee for the 2012 course is £260 which includes music tuition, full board and accommodation.

This new course offersa great opportunity to sing and perform hit songs from West End shows such as Les Miserables, Wicked and West Side Story, with performances on the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon accompanied by a showband of professional musicians. For young people 11 to 18, this residential course will take place in the beautiful setting of Gatton Park where students will be coached in vocal technique, movement and drama.
The fee for the 2012 course is £260, which includes music tuition, full board and accommodation.
Thursday 5 April to Friday 6 April 2012
Mini Gatton is designed for children aged 8 and over who are approximately Grades 1 - 3 on their orchestral instrument (including percussion).
The course is a combination of learning new music, rehearsing with others and fun music activities. There will be plenty of free time left to enjoy organised games, sports or make new friends.
There are two ensembles to choose from. Junior Strings is for all string players - violin, viola, cello and double bass. Junior Wind Band is for all brass, woodwind and percussion players.
Accommodation for Mini Gatton students is in the junior houses and all meals are included. There will be a concert at the end of the course to which family and friends are invited.
The fee for the 2012 course is £125 which includes music tuition, full board and accommodation.
