We also run over 50 performing ensemble groups. These range from area ensembles for beginner and intermediate levels through to county ensemblesfor advanced players and adults. Many of the ensembles take part in overseas tours and perform in such prestigious venues as the Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican.

ABRSM examinations and Trinity Guildhall examinations

In response to recent teacher and parental feedback, we have been considering how we can make the examination entry process more efficient.

In the spring term Surrey Arts will be trialling a 'self-service' system used by the Associated Board, and parents will be asked to use this system. Parents will be responsible for entering their child for an ABRSM exam directly through the ABRSM website following a recommendation from their teacher.

Pupils will only be entered for examinations with the teacher’s approval and if you are happy for an entry to be made. The teacher will supply the student with a letter before the end of this term, along with a list of accompanists, which confirms their approval and explains the process, for parents to follow. Please note that it will be the parent’s responsibility to provide an accompanist.

The ABRSM website address is www.abrsm.org and the online entry deadline is: Friday 20 January 2012.

Trinity Guildhall currently does not have an online facility, and therefore all Trinity Guildhall entries will continue to be processed by Surrey Arts.
