Our aims

Surrey Arts Drama aims to increase the interest and participation in all forms of drama across the County. We promote awareness of, and participation in, theatre and drama opportunities across Surrey. We work to help build the skills of local artists, and the resources available to everyone interested in drama and theatre.

This includes:

  • Growing and sustaining networks of support, training and development opportunities for artists delivering drama activities in Surrey
  • Working with community partners to find out how we can help to develop access to drama and theatre
  • Working with teachers and the youth service to extend access to drama and theatre for young people and promote the use of drama as an educational tool
  • Working with partners to enable access to theatre and drama by marginalised groups

Drama events

Consultation and Development

We offer support and advice on developing drama and performing arts in the county, whether you are an audience member wanting to get more involved, a young person looking to develop your skills, or an established theatre company - we look forward to hearing from you.

What else?

The drama team co-ordinates the Surrey Youth Theatre Network of drama practitioners, the Surrey Smallscale Touring Theatre Network, the Surrey Venues network and manages Surrey Arts Wardrobe.

Volunteering opportunities and work experience placements are sometimes available as part of our work.

New work

Are you a Surrey-based youth drama group, looking for a new script? Surrey Arts have one available for you to use, free of charge. Please go to Three Shoes - a script for young people by young people.
