• Bring a Surrey County Libraries ticket or a County Archive Research Network (CARN) card to use our collections. If you do not have either of these, bring something official as proof of ID and address, such as a driving licence or bank statement
• Bring pencils to write with (no pens)
• Bring a 20p piece for a locker to store your belongings, including handbags. For coats there are secure hangers for which you will need a £1 coin. Both coins are returnable
• You may use your portable computer
• You may use your own camera or mobile phone camera for a fee (see table of fees)
• We have a refreshments room
• You can buy books, maps and cards in the Surrey History Centre foyer
• We have a lending library in our foyer, with a specialised collection of local and family history books
