Surrey Libraries' Festival for Children

Kev F Sutherland

The 2014 festival

There was something for everyone at this year's Surrey Libraries' Festival for Children which ran from Saturday 24 May to Saturday 12 July

Part of Off The Page, our programme of children's events and activities, the festival was jam-packed full of exciting things for 0 - 12 year olds to do, from crafts, noisy musical fun and author visits to multilingual rhymetimes and sensory storytimes.

We had A F Harrold, creator of Fizzlebert Stump, show off and wave his beard about; children made a stop-frame animation to view on screen with Jellytree; created their own stories and saw them made into a book with Celebrate My Library.

Participants developed their Manga and comic art skills with Kev F Sutherland and Neill Cameron and grabed the chance to make a big noise in your library with Horsham Drum Dogs! and saw props from Snow White and the Huntsman, Batman and more with professional designer Alex Dawes of prop design company FBFX.

Pebble the Penguin visited many libraries and made new friends.
