Fire safety for young children

young children

Young children are especially susceptible to the dangers of fire. Around the home, and at school, they can be exposed to the dangers of matches and lighters and the growing use of candles in the home. In the home, kitchen safety is vital, as this room is the origin of a high proportion of domestic fires.

In the case of a fire breaking out every family member, including the children, needs to know what to do. An escape plan is a must. Having an escape plan will help your family to act quickly if you hear the bleeping of your smoke detector.

At certain times of year the dangers to children increase. A classic example is November 5th with the associated dangers of fireworks.

Take a look at our Fun and games pages.
