Conventional smoke alarms

Every year across the United Kingdom Fire Services are called to over 60,000 fires in the home, where nearly 500 people are killed and 11,000 are injured. Many of these deaths and injuries could be prevented, simply by people taking a little more care with the fire safety of their homes.

A vital part of fire safety in the home is the fitting and maintaining of smoke alarms. These can be powered either by mains electricity or battery.

Remember - smoke alarms only come into play when a fire has started. Do all you can to prevent a fire by reducing the risks in your home.
