The purpose of the Directory is to provide information on services available to children and families in Surrey. Some of the organisations are not registered or regulated in any way. However, a good organisation will welcome questions about their activities and how they ensure the safety of its users. Remember that as a parent/carer you are responsible at all times for the safety and wellbeing of your child.

Searching the Directory

The search facility allows you to look for details of organisations that provide services to children and families in Surrey. Enter terms in one or more of the search boxes according to how much you know. You can include a placename or postcode in the location box.

The initial search results page then provides you options to filter results according to:

• category or type of service
• service type
• location

These options are listed in the right-hand column.

If there are no results found or you can't find what you're looking for when then please try the following suggestions:

• Make sure all words are spelt correctly
• Try different or more general keywords
• Remove any postcode or placename entered in the location search box

Advanced search

The order of search results can be changed by choosing 'Relevance' or 'Title'. Additionally, when your search includes a location, the results will initially be displayed in approximate distance order. You can then choose to change the sort to relevance or title.

Results will depend on the search terms you use. For example:

• entering network childminder will show results where the term network or childminder was found.
• entering "network childminder" will show results where the phrase "network childminder" was found.

Childcare Finder

Childcare finder is our online search tool that allows you to search for childcare information quickly and easily.

• Enter your postcode or location to find different types of childcare in your area.
• You can then narrow your search further by clicking on a childcare type, such as childminder, on the right-hand side of the page.
• Click on "Additional details" to find further information about a childcare provider including Ofsted registration number, when they were last inspected and general details including school/nursery pick-ups.
