Travelling to us by car

Directions from Guildford Town Centre
Directions from Godalming

Directions from Guildford Town Centre

Once in the one way system roundabout in the centre of Guildford, take the A3100 exit to Godalming, also signposted to Guildford Crematorium and the College of Law – this is the Portsmouth Road. Continue on the Portsmouth Road towards Godalming, passing through three sets of pedestrian lights. After Rivermount Gardens on the left, prepare to turn right into the drive of the Register Office – the turning is just before a sharp left bend in the road. The drive has green Surrey County Council signs on the wall at the entrance. The car park is situated at the end of the drive. If you pass Ye Olde Ship Inn on your left or the College of Law on your right, you have gone too far!

Directions from Godalming

Take the A3100 towards Guildford. Continue on this road, going straight on at all traffic lights and roundabouts following signs to Guildford and the Town Centre. Eventually, after you have passed the Artington Park and Ride on your right, you will pass Mount Browne (headquarters of Surrey Police) on your left. Proceed up the hill with St Catherine's Priory ruins on the right and you will pass the College of Law on your left. When you reach a sharp right hand bend in the road (just after Ye Olde Ship Public Inn on your right), prepare to turn left into the drive of Guildford Register Office, just after Chestnut Avenue. The drive has green Surrey County Council signs on the wall at the entrance. The car park is situated at the end of the drive.

Travelling to us by train

The nearest train station is Guildford and there is a taxi rank outside the main front entrance of the station. On foot, it is approximately 25 minutes uphill walk from the station to the Register Office. As you leave the station by the main front entrance, turn right and walk to the end of the road. Cross over the pedestrian crossing, effectively crossing the end of a road bridge and continue straight (walking in the opposite direction to the traffic). Continue walking up the Portsmouth Road which is signposted A3100 to Godalming, Guildford Crematorium and the College of Law. Continue up the hill, passing pedestrian lights and Guildford Methodist Church on the left. After the third set of pedestrian lights and Rivermount Gardens on your left, Guildford Register Office is situated on the right hand side. The drive has green Surrey County Council signs on the wall at the entrance. The register office is at the end of the drive.
