Outdoor learning centres

Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD) operate four outdoor learning facilities across Surrey. Each has a colourful history and different experiences on offer.
All are operated to the same high standard and employ the same methods to deliver high quality outdoor learning experiences.
Please select from the list below to jump to more information on the facility.
Angel Blue
Angel Blue is a purpose built canal boat which sails on the Wey Navigation and the Thames. The boat was designed with wheelchair users in mind and has lift access to all parts of the boat. Groups take an active role in the operation of the boat and the locks during their journey. The boat can moor at many places along the bank so the crew can take advantage of the beautiful countryside.
Angel Blue (skippered by a SOLD instructor) is available for half and full day trips along the Wey. She is ideal for working with groups to promote teamwork and communication or for getting away from the distractions of daily life to explore personal or social development.
For longer (residential) trips Angel Blue sleeps 10 people plus the skipper and has a kitchen/dining area providing a self-catering option. A shower room and 2 toilets complete the essentials for a comfortable self-contained voyage along the river or canal.
We have more information on the activities available while on Angel Blue, how to find Angel Blue or courses on Angel Blue.
