If you have applied for a community or voluntary controlled school and you are not offered a place at that school, your child’s name will automatically be put on the waiting list of this school, and any other community or voluntary controlled school that is ranked on your application as a higher preference than the one you have been offered.
We will hold these lists until the end of the Autumn term 2013 (for September 2013 admissions). If you want your child's name to stay on the waiting list in subsequent years, you must let us know by writing to The Admissions and Transport Team, Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, GU22 7QQ, at the end of the Autumn term. After 31 December 2013 parents will have to submit an In year form in order to go back on a waiting list for a school.
Whilst waiting for an alternative school place we strongly recommend that you consider accepting the school place that your child has been offered, even if it was not one of your preferences.
Vacancies on the waiting list will be filled according to the school’s admission criteria, not in the order in which you ranked the schools.
No matter how long your child's name has been on the waiting list, his or her position may fall if we add a child's name to the list who has a higher priority for a place.
These schools look after their own waiting lists. If you have applied for an academy or foundation, trust or voluntary-aided school and you are not offered a place at that school, you should contact them directly to find out about their waiting lists.
