The Department of Education have confirmed that the Glyn Learning Foundation (GLF) will be the approved sponsor for the new primary school in Redhill this follows the recommendation by Surrey County Council executive member for schools and learning. Surrey County Council welcomes the establishment of Lime Tree Primary School from September 2013.
The GLF is a cross-phase multi academy trust based in Surrey comprising the Glyn School and Danetree Junior School. The Foundation also provides the Executive Headteacher to a third Surrey Primary School. The Glyn School is a National Support School and the Executive Headteacher is a National Leader of Education. The GLF has been granted sponsor academy status. The GLF supports an 'Every child counts' philosophy. Children would be encouraged to enjoy learning and benefit from an inclusive ethos, excellent teaching underpinned by strong leadership.
Applying for places
Surrey County Council and The GLF welcome applications for the new school in starting September. We will initially accept applications on the attached form up to 5 April 2013. 60 places will be offered for a start in 2013. You can apply for Lime Tree Primary School if you have had made an application for another school in the normal admission round, this will not impact upon that application, but would be considered if you do not receive any of your original preferences.
Meet the team
A number of events will be set up where you can meet the team that will be developing the school.
Two open days at Alexander Road have been arranged where you will be able to meet staff and talk through developments at the school.
