Apprentices

Get on the ladder of opportunity with Surrey County Council.
It's your future.

Our apprenticeship scheme provides a perfect way to earn a wage while you learn on the job. You’ll gain vital work experience, employment advice and a nationally recognised qualification - so it’s a great opportunity to start building your career.

There are many reasons why Surrey County Council is a great place to do your apprenticeship. For a start, we offer a number of apprenticeship opportunities in a wide range of services. For example, our apprentices could work in highways, cultural services, libraries, business administration, information management and technology, human resources and organisational development and many more.

The apprenticeship that's right for you will depend on your interests, experience and the job opportunities that are available in your area.

In the meantime, if you'd like to know more about working with Surrey County Council, take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions.

Here's what some of our apprentices have to say about the scheme:

Surrey County Council Apprentice

"Being an apprentice has helped me develop and prepare for a full time job. I have gained skills and knowledge of what it is like to work in a business environment. My confidence has also grown which has helped me to secure a new job working in Surrey County Council after just 6 months. Therefore, thanks to Surrey's apprenticeship scheme I am now on the career ladder, have extra training certificates and well-recognised job experience." Sophie Macco.

"I would definitely recommend the apprenticeship scheme to anyone thinking about it. Not only am I gaining a qualification (NVQ Level 3 in business admin), I am also placed in a job role, which gives me the experience needed along with the qualification to progress further." Ben Sampson.
