Opening links in new browser windows or tabs

Surrey County Council (SCC) does not force web pages to open in new browser windows or tabs unless technical reasons require us to do so, for example, in situations where an external website prevents the browser's 'back' button from working correctly.
If you prefer to open certain pages in new windows or tabs, then you can use the advice on this page to configure your internet browser appropriately. Instructions have been included for the most popular browsers. Please refer to your browser's help options for further advice.
