What you can recycle at our Community Recycling Centres

Below are the materials you can recycle at all community recycling centres. Read more on the materials that require special attention or find out what we do with your recycling.

Automotive recycling

Used engine oil, engine oil filters, car batteries.

Metals

Aluminium foil, food and drink cans, scrap metal.

Glass

Bottles and jars only. Window and other glass cannot currently be recycled and should be placed in the general waste skip.

Other recyclables

Bric-a-brac, stamps, spectacles, tapes and discs.

Construction waste policy

Construction waste may only be brought to the sites for free in a car. If you bring this waste to the sites in a van or trailer you will be directed to a site with a weighbridge and will have to pay.

Wood

Please place in the specially designated container.

Electrical

Low energy light bulbs, TVs and monitors, mobile phones, printer cartridges, small electrical appliances, batteries, large domestic appliances, fridges and freezers.

Household hazardous waste

Fire extinguishers, gas bottles, household and garden chemicals including paints and solvents.

Household organic waste

Garden waste.

Paper

Mixed paper and card, books.

Plastics

Plastic bottles, plastic bottle tops.

Textiles

Mixed textiles and clothing, shoes.
