Rubbish recycling and other doorstep collections

Your local district or borough council is responsible for rubbish, recycling, garden waste and bulky/special waste collections from your doorstep. If you have any queries regarding any of these services, please contact them directly or see their website. You can choose your local district or borough council from the map or list below to visit their website.

If you are disabled and are therefore unable to take your bin to the edge of your property for collection, contact your local district or borough council, as all councils in Surrey offer assisted refuse collection.

Please note your local district or borough council will charge a fee for bulky/special waste collections from the doorstep. Bulky/special waste collections include such items as:

  • sofas
  • washing machines
  • fridges/freezers
  • ovens

Find out what materials can be recycled and what to do with those that can't via our A- Z of recycling materials.

There are charitable organisations that collect good quality unwanted furniture, for further information please see the following website: www.surreyreusenetwork.org.uk

Dealing with fly-tipping is also a service provided by your district or borough council.
