Your local district or borough council is responsible for:

  • recycling
  • bulky or special waste (doorstep collections)
  • garden waste.

Doorstep collection

Bulky or special waste

Bulky/special waste collections include such items as:

  • Beds
  • Sofas
  • Washing machines
  • Fridges/freezers
  • Ovens

Contact your local district or borough council for information on bulky/special waste collection. Please note your district or borough council will charge a fee for bulky/special waste collections from the doorstep.

Assisted refuse collection

If you are disabled and are therefore unable to take your bin to the edge of your property for collection, contact your district or borough council, as all councils in Surrey offer assisted refuse collection.

Reuse

There are charitable organisations that collect good quality unwanted furniture, for further information please see the following website: www.surreyreusenetwork.org.uk

Fly-tipping

Dealing with fly-tipping is also a service provided by your district or borough council.

Your local district or borough council also deal with reports of missed bins and requests for wheelie bins.
