Our main role is to make provision for future mineral extraction and waste treatment and disposal activities with the least possible damage and disruption to local communities and the environment. Policies and proposals are set out in separate minerals and waste plans.
We are currently reviewing and updating the Surrey Minerals Local Plan 1993 to bring it into line with the new planning system introduced in 2004. The Waste Plan was updated in 2008.
We have more information on the Surrey Minerals Plan and the Surrey Waste Plan. They contain information on the plans and ongoing work, including details of any community consultations.
Each year we produce an annual monitoring report which summarises our work and also includes details of planning applications determined and monitoring and enforcement. This is available to download on the link below.
