Surrey Climate Change Partnership

Working together to tackle climate change

The Surrey Climate Change Partnership (SCCP) is a partnership of all 11 borough and district councils and the county council. The Partnership agreed the Surrey Climate Change Strategy in 2009.

Our aims are to tackle fuel poverty and help residents address rising fuel costs, reduce carbon emissions from our area and our own estate, to develop the local low carbon economy and to address the risks posed by future climate change.

The current focus areas are:

    • Domestic energy efficiency including the Green Deal
    • Energy from local renewable resources, in particular wood fuel
    • Joint initiatives to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy on our own estates
    • Learning for sustainability and energy efficiency in schools via the Eco-Schools programme
