Be aware of bats

There are 17 species of bats in the UK. All UK bats and their roost sites are protected by law, whether the bats are present or not. All bats depend upon trees for feeding, roosting, hibernating and maternity roosts. Bats occasionally roost in the roof or loft space of houses, with pipistrelle bats and brown long-eared bats being the most commonly found in buildings.
