Horse Pasture Management Calendar

Horse Pasture Management calendar cover 2012

The 2012 Horse Pasture Management Calendar

This colourful advisory calendar is A3 size (A4 size when closed) and contains monthly advice on managing pastures for all-round benefit. In addition to providing advice on timely land management (e.g when to test soil nutrients, when to trim hedges and carry out harrowing and rolling etc.), the calendar also features crime prevention tips. The calendar contains some fantastic photographs this year, thanks to the people who sent copies in and also Equine Photographer, Samantha Lamb, who allowed the Project to use a number of her great photographs. Please keep the photographs coming for future calendars! The calendar will help horse owners to keep pasture in a productive and safe condition whilst also being sensitive towards wildlife, the landscape and the environment.

We are all aware of the current pressures on countryside and open spaces. This magnifies the importance of ensuring landscape character is preserved and wildlife potential is achieved at horse-keeping sites. Under appropriate management, stables and grazing offer ideal wildlife habitats.

How do I purchase a copy?

Anyone can purchase a copy of this attractive and informative Calendar whilst stocks last but it may appeal most to people owning or riding a horse or to managers of horse-keeping sites outside of Surrey. The advice in the calendar is not specific to Surrey: it can be applied to horse pastures nationally. The Calendar is an ideal Christmas present! The calendar is available for distribution from December 2011 and copies can be purchased using the link below:

2013 Calendar Sponsorship Opportunity!

Would you be interested in promoting a company, service or product to Surrey’s busy equine community? The Calendar presents an excellent opportunity for sponsors to advertise directly to Surrey’s 25,000 horse-keepers. Sponsorship packages vary from promotion on one monthly page to promotion across the entire Calendar. Whilst benefiting from the exposure, you will also be supporting the production of the Calendar and fulfilment of its aims: to assist horse-keepers to manage land in harmony with wildlife, the landscape and with sensitivity to the environment. For more information, please Contact the Project.
