Public Footpath 213 (Farnham) Temporary Closure

Notice
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 213 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2013

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 213 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2013 was made in order to allow works to alleviate the increased risk of flood caused by a landslip along the Farnham Bourne River that will be taking place on or near the right of way. The Order came into operation on 16 September 2013 and was due to expire on 16 January 2014, but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 16 April 2014 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 213 (Farnham) which extends from its junction with A287 Frensham Road (Grid Ref SU 8453 4510) in a north easterly direction for 250 metres to its junction with Old Church Lane/Public Footpath 63 (Farnham).

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. No access to properties will be affected by the temporary closure.

The alternative route for traffic from the western end of closure will be:

Cross the A247 Frensham Road and proceed in a northerly direction for approximately 360 metres. Turn right onto Vicarage Hill and proceed in a southerly direction for approximately 150 metres. Turn right onto Old Church Lane/Public Footpath 63 (Farnham) and continue for approximately 300 metres to reach the eastern point of the closure.

The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

‘The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 213 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2013’ was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
