Are you reporting an emergency situation?

We define an emergency as a hazard that is an immediate threat to life or limb.  If you want to report a highway emergency or you are unsure please do not report it online, ring our Contact Centre on 0300 200 1003.

If you wish to report a problem that is not an emergency situation, please select from the following online forms:

• Report a blocked drain
• Report a bridge fault
• Report a problem with the condition of a carriageway (worn road surface, cracks etc. but not potholes)
• Report damage or vandalism to council property 
• Report a problem with a drain (broken, loose etc)
• Report a flooding and/or drainage problem
• Report a grit bin problem
• Report a problem with a road line (give way line or stop line)
• Report a problem with ironwork (manhole covers etc.)
• Report a problem with a pavement
• Report a pothole
• Report a problem with a street light (including illuminated bollards and illuminated signs)
• Report a problem with trees and vegetation
• Report traffic lights not working

Tracking the progress of a highways problem reported online

If you were given a reference number that starts with MG when you reported a highways problem online, you may be able to track the progress of your report using our online tracking system. For progress of reports that do not have an MG reference number, please see Highways information reporting to find out about our timescales for responding to your report.
