Surrey Early Years and Childcare Service (EYCS) supports private, voluntary and independent playwork, early education and childcare settings in Surrey. We also support people working or interested in working in these settings. And we provide free information and advice to families with 0-19 year olds through the Family Information Service.

If you already work with children in Surrey then you will be aware that from 1 July 2012, EYCS started working in a new structure. Within Surrey Early Years and Childcare Service there are teams that work across all of Surrey and teams that are split into geographic areas.

Family Information Service provides free and impartial information about your setting to parents looking for childcare. They offer parents and prospective parents information about all services for children and offer a brokerage service for parents of children with additional needs to help find services. They publish an electronic directory of services.

Children’s Centre Advisory Team supports and advises you to effectively meet the Sure Start Children’s Centre core purpose. They monitor and challenge you through the Surrey County Council performance management process. They support and facilitate inter-professional working to help prepare families for parenthood and support child development and wellbeing. This team replaces the senior children’s centre development officers.
