How to become a council supplier

How do I know what opportunities are available?

We have an online portal where we run our tender processes at www.surrey.bravosolution.co.uk. You can view our current opportunities on that site.

How do I become a supplier to Surrey?

It's easy. If you register on the portal you can take part in any of our contract opportunities that interest you.

What support is available to me as a new or potential supplier to the public sector?

For companies new to the public sector, Business Link provide a wealth of information to support and inform you, including a free online procurement course, Winning The Business, that provides an overview of the public sector tendering process.

If I am a small or local supplier do I have to take part in the tender process?

Yes. Anyone wishing to become a supplier to Surrey County Council, regardless of size, must take part in the tender process. We have a responsibility to comply to both UK and EU procurement regulations. Find out more about our tender process.

Is tendering the only way to become a supplier?

No. For smaller value purchases we will approach suppliers for quotations. This means that by registering on the portal we know about you and may approach you this way. When registering you can include details of the categories of work (goods and services) you are interested in.

How do we get paid and what do I do if I have a payment query?

We pay by BACS. If you have any queries about payment you can call our Suppliers' help line on 0300 200 1011

What is e-invoicing and how can I get involved?

Read more about e-invoicing and how we use technology in our tender process on our e-procurement page

How does Surrey ensure its suppliers are environmentally friendly?

We evaluate suppliers during the tender process, not only on environmental issues, but also equality and diversity and SMEs.

Read more about this on our sustainability page.

How much does Surrey spend on its goods, works and service?

You can now view details of all payments we have made over £500 as part of our commitment to opening the book on our Council Spending over £500 page.
