Surrey Community Planning

In Surrey we believe that partnership working is essential to improve people's quality of life. The Surrey Strategic Partnership (SSP) brings together key organisations from the public, private and voluntary and community sectors across Surrey to work for the benefit of the county. Community Planning is where these SSP partners come together to:
- Agree the strategic direction for Surrey and
- Coordinate their organisations' plans and activities.
Sustainable Community Strategy
The long-term goal of community planning in Surrey is the Partnership’s
Vision of Surrey in 2020, which came out of a major consultation exercise with over 3,000 people across the county. The vision is delivered through
Surrey's Sustainable Community Strategy, which sets out the Partnership's priorities and actions, and is refreshed every three years.
Local Area Agreement
The Local Area Agreement 2008-11 is a three-year agreement between the Surrey Strategic Partnership and central Government. It contains 28 indicators selected from the Government's national set of targets, which reflect the priorities of Surrey's Sustainable Community Strategy.
Partnership Development
Although much has been achieved to develop partnership working over recent years, we wish to continue improving the way we work together to deliver real benefits for the people of Surrey. The SSP is committed to a process of continuous improvement through regular self-assessment leading to an agreed partnership development plan. The
partnership development page includes information on our self-evaluation and the way the Audit Commission assesses the effectiveness of the partnership through
Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA).
