Surrey County Council Local Committee (Woking) is one of eleven established by Surrey County Council in April 2002 to bring local government into the heart of the community. The committee welcomes all Woking residents to attend and hear the topics on discussion. We are interested in your views so that we can work together to make Woking a better place to live and work.
The local committee in Woking is made up of seven county councillors who represent each of the divisions within the borough and seven co-opted members from Woking Borough Council. They discuss issues such as education, young people and community safety. The local committee also decides on an annual programme of highways improvements and local transportation issues. The Local Committee is keen to support activities and groups that can make a difference to local communities through its County Councillors’ local member allocation fund.
