Dead animals on the road

Removal of dead animals from the pavement or road is the responsibility of your district or borough council (select your borough and district below). Small animal carcasses may be removed from the road naturally, or by the borough/district council as part of their routine street cleaning responsibility.

However, if you see a large animal carcass on the road, which is of sufficient size to be considered hazardous to the travelling public, please call us on 0300 200 1003.
